What do you do when you’ve drunk all you can drink at one bar but you don’t have a ride? Most people would call a cab. Some people would walk. Greg Oras would call 911.
In an attempt to get the police to come drive him to his next planned location, Oras claimed that someone had beaten him up and was trying to shoot him with a gun. When a deputy arrived and refused to give Oras a ride, Oras kicked him in the knee and had to be subdued by a taser.
Oras was arrested and is currently in county jail.
I just wrote about this story so I could show the picture. Fact is, if you read this story without the picture, this is probably the exact image that would come to mind. Only someone who looks like that would think calling 911 to get a ride is a good idea.
On a related note, my pool boys actually call 911 to get away from my house quite often. Fortunately, they don’t speak English very well.
